A Puppy's Day at Daycare

Hi there! I'm a fluffy little doodle from Petland Pensacola, and I've got a tail-waggin' story to share. One bright and early Friday morning, my Pet Counselor gave me the news: I was headed to daycare to meet a whole room full of kids!

Being a Petland puppy, I already knew my job — to love and be loved by everyone I meet. So I packed my best zoomies and my softest snuggles and got ready for an adventure.

Loading Up With the Crew

I wasn't nervous one dog'on bit, because my kennel mates came along for the ride. My buddies — a Cockadoodle and a doodle cousin close to our playful mini bernedoodles — piled in with me for the trip.

It was a beautiful summer day full of fresh smells and butterflies floating in the wind. (Distracted puppy alert! I almost caught one, but it was too quick for my short puppy legs.) Sun's out, tongues out — a perfect doodle day.

"The Puppies Are Here!"

When we arrived, we could hear the giggles and excitement as the teachers gathered the kids into a circle and shouted, "The puppies are here!" Wait — that's US they're talking about! It was our time to shine.

Oh, the fun we had running around and wagging as fast as we could! The kiddos petted us and gave us the sweetest hugs. My clumsy kennel mates and I tumbled over each other racing for the most belly rubs.

The Cockadoodle won the rub race — first place!
I came in a close, proud second.
Our doodle pal? Too busy flirting with the teachers to even join the ruff race.

Every Puppy Gets a Nickname

The children were so much fun that they gave us all names! They called me Penny, because they said I looked like one — whatever a penny is! My friends got names too: Apollo and Rufus. New name, same happy heart.

The kids told us they'd all visited Petland before, where they love playing with puppies plus hamsters, reptiles, and birds. Word travels fast in kid circles!

Days full of gentle handling, new faces, and fresh sights aren't just fun — they help puppies grow into calm, confident, well-adjusted dogs. By the time lunch rolled around (distracted puppy alert — I could smell chicken nuggets... yum!), it was time to head back to Petland for a snack and a long, happy nap.
